The future of CU3ER!

    Hi,

    I just want to let you know couple of things regarding to the future of CU3ER.

    Please be aware that CU3ER v0.9.2 is beta, it's not finished release and have a lot of bugs. We've decided to drop off from further updating this beta in favor of v1 which will be significantly different in terms of setting, configuring & functionality. This is something we had to do in order to push CU3ER forward as an application and will allow number of new cool features that were not possible with current buildout.

    Once v1 is out, we will shortly after discontinue offering support for v0.9.2! There is no reason to keep inferior beta version in life once v1 is out. What this mean that all current existing plugins, extensions, themes and templates will have to be updated by their authors to meet v1 functionality which will be more robust & feature rich than previous one. Please keep that in mind if you plan to build theme/template in the near future. Everyone who turned to us questioning about licensing, know that new version is on its way and there will be license model for various kind of CU3ER usage. While we will keep CU3ER usage free under the same or very similar license as current one, embedding CU3ER in commercial templates will require new license which will not be free. License models & fees are not determined yet and will be announced in respective time.

    Lastly, I'm not allowed to talk about the new features at this time but here is the one, among number of others, you will definitely like: CU3ER Manager - full featured CU3ER configuration & management application! :)

    Hi Stefan, firstly great work!

    Will the new CU3BER allow you to load an .swf file to it? ...if not would it be possible to add the feature.

    Hi Stefan, we're looking to use your script for one of our projects, not a commercial theme, and would be happy to buy it when you release it, especially as the new version promises much more added value.

    With regard to the commercial license and business model, I have a few suggestions if I may, though I'm sure you've already thought it all through:

    - FREE basic version without the admin GUI and perhaps without some features
    - PREMIUM version with GUI and all features but branded cu3er
    - PREMIUM EXTRA version same as a premium but without cu3er branding and ability for us to create our own branded pre-loader

    I also think it would be a good idea to develop a WordPress plugin that will enable us to use and set up cu3er from within our WP admin. This would allow us to nominate certain posts to appear in cu3er. Of course, this would be part of the premium package.

    Anyway, just wanted to impart my thoughts and look forward to seeing v1.0 in action.
