Piecemaker blatantly ripped your work, and shame on them, Im getting the feeling its because of this kind of piracy that you have decided to put a high price on template resellers so they stop profiting off your work without any kind of donation or help back to Cu3er.

All I hope is all this negativity from users has not put off development for V1 because it looks amazing from the demo vids, I so badly want this released.

How much longer until the release?

Regards

Hi,

License is required for any web template that is reselling to third parties or third party is charged for access and usage of web template. How CU3ER is embedded in that template, via plugin/module/extension or hard coded is not the subject of current license.

Thanks.

Hi Stefan,

Firstly, I do agree with some people about this point: $990 is little to high. I think $199 is good for both of us (you and we).

Cu3er 3D is amazing but your price is not good. I tried to google and found Piecemaker ( http://www.modularweb.net/piecemaker ) maybe at the moment, it's not better than cu3er 3D but it's an open source project. Yeah it's absolutely free!

Secondly, I still confuse over your license. We have build and released a free module (extension) for Joomla Community. I have 2 questions for you:

1. Could you please confirm we don't need a license for that module?

2. If we are showing that module in our template then we must purchase your license, right ?

Thanks.

@Leonel: yeah there are 2 free modules: JV Cu3er (content slideshow) and Vinaorao Cu3er (images slideshow) http://www.google.com/search?q=cu3er+3d&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Hi Chris,

including CU3ER in your theme demo will be treated as the same as using CU3ER in commercial templates (whatever CU3ER is in your downloadable package or not; and no matter if you embed CU3ER via plugin or on your own) thus obtaining CU3ER license is required.

For all further questions please contact us, we will be glad to help.

Thanks.

I was planning to use Cu3er in an upcoming theme release but definitely won't be touching it EVER at $990 per theme. Perhaps if it were $200 or so, then I would probably include it as an option in every theme, because I know I would make that money back. No sense in adding an overexposed flash slideshow when it's going to cost almost $1,000 to do so.

Instead, I'll just add support for the Cu3er WordPress plugin, add it to the theme demo, then direct my buyers to WordPress.org to download and install the plugin, which will then integrate perfectly into the theme. In addition, they will receive updates to the Cu3er plugin, so we won't need to update the theme for new Cu3er releases.

I think that actually works out better anyway.

Clearly most of the people posting these negative comments regarding the $990 licensing fee aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer! People I'TS SIMPLE!!!

EXAMPLE:
If you charge a client, that's (1) client, $3000 to design their site, you can use Cu3r FREE OF CHARGE!!! However, you you make a template using the plugin specifically FOR RESELL PURPOSES...meaning you will sell the same template SEVERAL times to MULTIPLE CLIENTS, you are required to pay the $990 licensing fee.

WHY?
Obviously, this slick Cu3er addition to any template will add value and allow you to potentially resell the same template more oftent thanm not having it.

THE MATH:
You pay $990 license fee to include Cu3er in your template. You join Themeforest and sell 100 copies of this same template at, $35 a pop. That's $3500 dollars you make from (1) template design. Minus the $990 for cu3er and you still make $2510. Not bad if you ask me!!!!
